June 11, 1945 – Monday
Blue Monday. It has been raining all day and I doubt if it stops. Not much to do so I wrote a few letters. Spent my evenings the same as always.
June 10, 1945 – Sunday
Didn’t get to go on a picnic today as it rained. We played cards just about all day and I won $45.00. Went over to Lore’s early and we went for a walk.

June 6, 1945 – Wednesday
Well, tomorrow is the day. I’m pretty well up into shape on my books and records. We got rained out of our ball game for this evening. Spent my evening at the same place.
June 5, 1945 – Tuesday
About the same as yesterday except we played ball in the afternoon in the tournament. We won 4 to 2. Pretty good game. Lore and I went for a short walk and then played some cards.
