Letter Home – December 20, 1943

Letter Home 1943-12-20Dear Mother & Dad,

Here it is Sunday in another day. Yesterday I caught a ride over to see “Snook”. I didn’t have a bit of trouble finding him. He was just as glad to see me as I was to see him. We spent the whole day together in the afternoon we went to a new and nearby town. We talked over old times, and had a swell time. Maybe someday we will get to see each other again. I received two more letters from you. One dated October 30, and one November 25. Boy mail is sure messed up. I’ve received almost all of your mail. For a so do I miss a letter. Here I go again asking for something, but I do need a pipe tobacco pouch. See if has any of these kind at the store that poll out in the middle and snap back. But any kind will do. Say you and dad painted the kitchen again. Boy I never will know the place when I get home.  I sure have to laugh and so does “Snook” when you write in your letters about Joe Chick and Bud getting ready to leave for some how they never do.  “Snook” and I had a big laugh over it. Well mom and dad I had better close for now. Right when you have time and I love you both very much.
Your Son
“Chick”
