Letter home – May 30, 1943

19430530-LscanDear Mother & Dad;
Here it is moral date and many things are happening.  This morning about 10:00 we looked up in the sky and it was just full of flying fortress.  How would you like to look up and see 200 4 motored bombers over head, and that was all we could see, there were probably plenty more.  If they keep up this bombing maybe I’ll be home soon.  We had a mass said for all of the boys that lost their lives here in Africa.  In the afternoon we went down to the beach.  It was swell again today and the water was the warmest it has been in a long time.  I was dead tired when I came home.  I have very little to write about now so when I get time I will try and write a better letter.  Goodbye an I love you both.
