It’s still raining out so we can’t do much. Sat around and talked all evening or I should say till 8 o’clock and then I went out.

June 17, 1945 – Saturday
Went on a picnic today. Tramped all over the side of the mountain. Got home about 9 o’clock. Lore’s mother had a big supper waiting for us. They really treat me swell.

Today is inspection. Not much of an inspection though. Just came in the door, said okay and walked out. We played the 7th infantry a ball game and won 10 to 1. Came home, took a bath. In the evening … Continue reading

Worked all day. Kept pretty busy. It’s not hard work but it’s surely monotonous. Cleaned up in the evening, wrote a few letters and went out.
June 14, 1945 – Thursday
Worked all morning and played the 15th infantry in the afternoon. We won 7 to 2. Came home, took a bath and went to see Lore in the evening.

Blue Monday. It has been raining all day and I doubt if it stops. Not much to do so I wrote a few letters. Spent my evenings the same as always.
