October 1, 1944 – Sunday
Issued out clothes all day today. There is rumors that we will go up on the lines as infantry as our infantry is short of replacements. Played cards and went to a show in Remiremont.
September 30, 1944 – Saturday
Took in salvage today and went down after the clothes. In the afternoon a few of us played pass and touch football. Played cards and read a little before going to bed.
September 29, 1944 – Friday
Kept busy all day. Went down after some clothes but they were not in as yet. Played cards and read a little. Also wrote some letters.
September 28, 1944 – Thursday
Not much to do today so I wrote letters just about all day. I only have about 10 more to go and I’ll be caught up. Played cards and went to bed.

I worked on requisitions and shortages all day. Wrote a few letters, Melgard was in to see me. He is still looking for his outfit, the lucky dog. Played cards a while and went to bed.

Boy it’s miserable out. Foggy and the rain is sure cold. We dug out our stove and set it up. We moved about 3 pm. Went into town and bivouacked in a textile factory. It’s much better than being outside. … Continue reading
