The city is all ours now. We may move in tomorrow. I loaded up the truck and have things pretty well ready to pull out. Wrote some letters.

They practically have all of Nuremberg now. I worked around the truck a little. Wrote a letter and listened to the radio. There are rumors of the 3rd Div. Garrisoning Nuremberg. Hope so.

April 19, 1945 – Thursday
The fighting is pretty heavy in Nuremberg as there are plenty of snipers. They want to take the city by tomorrow as it’s Hitler’s birthday. Wrote a letter and went to bed.
April 18, 1945 – Wednesday
We moved again after dinner into the suburbs of Nuremberg. We have a pretty good place in an old factory. I got the loads straightened around on the trucks and went to bed.
