July 7, 1944 – Friday
Today is Mel’s birthday, also Rita’s. Worked all day on my property books. Went into town to a show.
July 6, 1944 – Thursday
Went to see Vince, Miner, and Ross. They are all feeling swell. Worked all day on my books, and went in to Pozzuoli to a show. John Wayne in “The Fighting Sea Bees”. It was real good.

Not much of a fourth. Pretty quiet. Worked all day on my books. Was tired and went to bed early.
July 3, 1944 – Monday
The company left this morning for Gaeta to clear mines. We are to stay behind. Have a lot of book work to do in the supply room. Wrote a letter and went to bed.
July 2, 1944 – Sunday
Went to mass this morning. Kept myself busy all day with an ordnance inspection. Went down to the AT-7th Inf. to see Herman Osterbur but he wasn’t there. Came home, wrote a few letters and went to bed.
July 1, 1944 – Saturday
Worked on my books again, getting things straightened around. Wrote a few letters and went to bed.
