Letter Home – December 14, 1943

Letter Home 1943-12-14Dear Mother & Dad,

Well I have some good news for you. “Snook” was here to day to see me and spent the whole day here. Gee, but he look swell. The day just wasn’t long enough. Boy we had plenty of things to talk about. I took a few pictures of us but it will probably take months before I can send them home. Received letters November 16 and 18 today. Thanks for the tea balls, they were Okea. The allotment will be straightened out one of these days. How much do I have at home now. John Collins has been out for just about a year. He left us at Ord. He has a heart murmur. That’s why he was discharged. He’s really a swell kid. It’s a shame that he had heart trouble. This mail sure gets messed up and its pretty slow. I’ll write you an air mail one of these days as I have some more negatives to send home. Goodbye to you both and I hope you have had a Merry Christmas.
Your Son
“Chick”
