19440818a-Lscan-600Dear Mother & Dad

Well here I am in France. Maybe we can get moving and get this war over with. You probably know more what’s going on by reading the paper then I can tell you. So far this is the nicest country we have been in. The people seem very happy that we are here but they also say the Germans didn’t treat them badly.

One of these days I will be able to tell you more about everything. I haven’t much time now, and I 19440818b-Lscan-600will only be able to drop a line every now and then so don’t worry about me. Tell every one hello & and where I am, but not to expect any mail from me for a while.

Ha, ha, has but made it into France yet. I told you I would beat him over. But I guess things are pretty rough and they don’t want to move his outfit over. I guess I had better bring this to a close. Oh yes, Snooks job as we were told had it pretty easy, & they should have it made for awhile anyway. Goodbye to you both and I love you from the bottom of my heart.

Your Son,
“Chick”
