Chick Bruns

Chick Bruns

There is little to write about now.  It’s still raining and I just do odd jobs around the supply room.  Many wonder why I don’t go out on lite duty and make more than a P.F.C.  It’s like this, a Pvt has no worries and no one to look after but himself.  I don’t want to risk men’s lives.  I’m happy here and that’s where I want to stay.  It’s just bad enough being in this damn army.  When I go home I will probably be just a private.  The old saying goes “if I wasn’t for the Private in this man’s army, there would be no army”,  That’s that for today.
