Letter Home – March 8, 1945

19450308-Lscan-600Dear Mother & Dad,

Here I am still in the hospital and I guess I’ll be here a couple of weeks or more. For my part I’d stay here till the war is over. Just think by the time I get out of here I’ll be on my 30th month overseas. Oh well the war can’t last forever. You always say that I should be on my way home. Well mom and dad there are kids in our company that have been overseas 36 and 37 months so they will all go home before it gets to me. Don’t look for me till after the war is over. Don’t worry about me I’ll be Okea. Some of the Fellows from the company was in to see me and brought my mail. I have a stack of letters hear from you and I’ll answer them one of these days. I just can’t get in the mood to write letters. I owe everyone a letter. I’ll get on the ball one of these days. Had a letter from Snook, he’s Okea, but I still haven’t the slightest idea where he is. Well guess I will have to bring this to a close. Bye bye for now and I’ll write again soon.

Your Son
“Chick”
