Letter Home – January 17, 1943

Hello Mother & Dad
I have just come home from a show. We went into town by truck to go to the show. It was quite a treat and we saw a good show also. It was Cary grant and Irene Dunn in “My Favorite Wife”. Boy was it ever funny. We haven’t been doing much so I will try to answer a few of your questions. I have received all of the few or mail and I’d really appreciate it. You also ask how I slept. Well I am pretty lucky. Us three Fellows that worked and the supply room sleep in the supply tent. The rest to sleep and pup tents. I sleep on a mattress cover and a sleeping bag so I am warm and comfortable. That puts the and two were a number one. As for trying to find someone here that is out of the question. You wouldn’t know where to start. Have you sent me Margie Behrnes & Fleshner’s address yet? I will be looking forward to the candy you are sending me but we get hard tack candy about twice a week. Well good by mom and dad four to day I’ll write more letters. I’ll be thinking of you both.
Your Son “Chick”
