June 18, 1943 – Friday

This morning we had a big air raid, the bombs fell a few miles away, but it made the ground shake plenty. The sky was just colored with ack, ack fire and tracer bullets. I am going to town today. Well I’m home from town now and I had a good time. I took a few pictures and I just looked around, which was just about all you can do. Tunis is a pretty good size town. I saw the King of England while I was there. He came with a large escort and I wasn’t more than 3 ft from him. I was pretty tired when I got back home so I went to bed.
