April 3, 1945 – Tuesday

SONY DSCWas put on the alert to leave tonight after chow. We left at 8:00 for the 71st Repo Depot. We rode in an open truck without any top. It rained on us and our raincoats were in the bottom of our bags. It was cold and miserable. I entered Germany at about 9:00 pm. Passed the first line of Seigfried defense. The Dragons teeth were about 8 to 10 feet high. Plenty of pill boxes. We got to the new area at 11 pm. But they were full up and we had to go on to another company.
