April 12, 1945 – Thursday

A4P67-5-600We left for a new area right after breakfast. It seems as though we are always on the move. Left again after supper and I had to drive black out again. It rained most of the way.

I love military history and have written 4 books thus far, working on the 5th and the 6th in the future as well. That is the hardest I have worked on thus far as it is about one of our soldiers who was a Japanese POW for 3-1/2 years. His widow sent me his diary he had kept as well explaining how he managed to keep it hidden and the different kinds of paper he had to use.
Thank you for your service and so happy that you got home.
My oldest son was a Marine MP for 5 years, wanted to change his MOS but was not allowed to so he quit and joined the Army Reserves, didn’t like that so joined the Air Force Reserves. After 2-1/2 years his entire unit was activated but didn’t have to go overseas unless one of the airmen wanted to come home on leave so he was sent to replace him/lthem for up to one month. His only son just graduated from basic training last May in Georgia. I was also in the military, Women’s Army Corps, was the only girl in my unit who could type so became the Unit Clerk which is what I ended up doing my entire service – typing!!! I served during Korea but never had to go overseas.
    Thank you again, Sir.
    Bonnie
